Waltham Forest

After some fine performances, Oaks started in dominant form but were unable to convert any chances that they created and played their worst game for several weeks. The team became narrow and it wasn’t until Katy Barnett found width on the right and played a great pass in to Tash Kenny to put the ball past the opposition keeper that Oaks scored. Forest had a series of penalty corners and a lucky deflection but the ball into the path of one of their players to equal the scoring. It was only a matter of minutes before they took their second goal, a great goal that left keeper Julia Ridger with no chance and Oaks 2-1 down at half time. A positive team talk saw Oaks realise as a unit were they needed to improve and they stepped up their game at the beginning of the second half. It was frustrating as Forest looked to constantly break down and Oaks could only play well in phases. Georgie Leathers won a penalty corner and a fine strike by Amanda Bishop saw a deflection and the equaliser. Though Oaks pushed hard for the win it wasn’t to be. However with all rival teams drawing no harm was done to the league positions.
