Sevenoaks Mens 8^th team slumped to a 7-1 home defeat to table-topping Gore Court. Oaks were rocked from the off by two quick-fire goals from the snappy visitors but then settled into their stride with Rob House, Andy Hix and Ian Rea bringing midfield composure. Unlucky libero Nick Clark was soon sidelined with a recurrent injury, bring on bustling attack dog Tim Boulton. Peppy Pieter Booyse took every opportunity to forge forward ferociously. Electric Ed Gore was weaving his webs on the left, muscular Matt Garner busting down the right, and James Side ever-ominous at centre forward. But Oaks failed to clear their lines and conceded again to turn round 3 nil down.

Skipper Tim Gore gave welcome encouragement over the half time oranges but almost immediately the defence left athletic keeper Peter Gray exposed again to let in a fourth. At the back Chris Hix, Derek Allsop and Booyse were finding themselves overwhelmed by successive attacks. Gore brought himself on and added weight to the forward line, but Oaks a fifth from a well-taken short. Then Garner surged surgically down the right and found Side well-placed to slap home a shot. Could Oaks come back? Regrettably not, the Gore court young guns showed why they are the top team and ran through to score twice more. Oaks ended the game chastened but having enjoyed the challenge.
