U12 Boys report 2012/13 season

Over the season 25 boys have signed up for the Under 12 boys group, and each week we have on average 15 to 20 very enthusiastic boys at the training sessions. We have had 5 complete beginners to hockey join us this year and make amazing progress and along with those boys, we have also had several boys in the group completing their 7^th season with the club, so obviously this wide ability range has proved a challenge on the coaching front.

We have entered and hosted a number of triangular tournaments and at each one we have nearly always had an unbeaten team.   We have always taken 2 teams to away fixtures and at the two home fixtures, we have organised we have fielded 3 Sevenoaks teams, so everyone in the group has participated in a great deal of competitive hockey this season.  My thanks to James Freeman, Sue Hart and Pat Moorcroft for umpiring at our home fixtures,  we really appreciated the time you gave to this.  

I have been admirably helped by James Brown (parent) each week with the register. In addition I have really appreciated all the help to run the coaching sessions I have had from Nick Barker, Neil Morey, Pia Tucker and young helper Daniel Wilson.

Our A team goal Keeper Harry Wade was selected fro the Kent under 13 squad which is a brilliant achievement, we look forward to watching him progress with his hockey in future years.

Finally my thanks to the parents for all their support this season. The group has been an absolute pleasure to coach this season.  They have all improved a great deal and have all shown tremendous enthusiasm, commitment and good humour throughout the season. At the tournaments we have attended they have been a great credit to Sevenoaks not only through their display of great hockey, but also their sportsmanship and impeccable behaviour. I look forward to seeing them all continue to play and develop over the next few years.
