The ladies 4th team play in East Division 2SE, no other 4th team in the country plays as high as this division!

 MID SEASON REPORT BY SJ

A tough first half of the season saw the Ladies 4th X1 standing second to bottom with a huge battle on their hands to avoid relegation. A lot of the team saw them jump two leagues and it has taken time to find our feet. However the structure is continuing to improve and after a couple of early heavy defeats, there has been a couple of wins and some very close annoying losses by the odd goal.

A massive bottom of the table clash saw Sevenoaks gain three precious points and with the fight and determination of the team there is no reason why we can't retain our position in East Division 2. Perhaps we were lucky to have CGS coming back from the birth of her twins and H and Su from injury and Pinky out of mini retirement!

There has been a multitude of players that have played this season and without exception all have improved and given 100%. In fact some have played too well and been rightly promoted. Congratulations to juniors Anna Lamastes and Sophie Maunder and Emily Jackson.

In the heart of the teamAngharad Salmon, Lucie Clinch, Emily Young and Lou Curry have been there week in and week out building a solid fortress which teams have found difficult to penetrate along with great goalkeeping from Dips, Whizz and Kelsey. Flick Wooley and Lily Loveland have grown in maturity and strength and along with Emily Jackson, Maggie Morley and chairman Fran Walton have helped to secure the defence and it has given the solid base for the team to build on.

Julie Nicholson, Ali Minto, Anna Healey, Pecka and Lucy Woodward have all played well not always getting the goals they have deserved but continuing to fight, create space and chances. Many times they have given themselves far too much of a hard time when they are giving their absolute best and have been unlucky. To go away from home, create a two goal lead through great play, team work and commitment to be robbed of not a victory but a draw sums up the first half of the season when things just didn't run our way.

The next few weeks are vital to how the season might end and as long as the team believe, show the same spirit as they have all season it's all to play for. George Lovegrove is doing a great job with training and the feedback from the team has been nothing but positive. Lou Curry has rallied her troops, battled to get teams out, managed to get engaged via raisins in her porridge and now stands in frustration on the sideline but with the excitement of expecting her and Nicks first child. Many congrats.

Come and watch, you would never believe that we are a 4th team. Most of the teams in our league are 1st teams and we have given all of them a run for their money. Oppositions have had to earn their points. The girls are a credit to the strength in depth and structure we have to offer at Sevenoaks and an absolute joy to work with. Here's to retaining our place in the East and celebrating in style at the end of the season. Lou, you can drive!!
