Mens section training schedule

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR THE MEN'S SECTION PRE SEASON! THE GREAT SHIRT RUSH HAS STARTED!

As you are aware we will start this season with new kit from Grays. It will be supplied by Bat and Ball Sports.

It was felt by the playing committee that this would be a good time to reset the club register for the section. You will cease to have your current number as listed previously. Numbers will not be allocated by team but by first come first served when buying a new shirt. So if you fancy the number 8 and you are in the 7ths better get in quick! On the 9th of August 10 players had ordered kit, it will be ready for you before the pre season games. Last to order will be allocated three figure numbers! Just call Bat and Ball or drop in to try the kit first!

Bat and Ball sports: @ Godfreys, Otford Road, SEVENOAKS, TN14 5EG. Tel: 01732 749675 Fax: 01732 740438. Email:  This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Sevenoaks is a thriving and lively Club, aiming to play Hockey at the highest level while also offering competitive or social hockey to all ages and abilities. We are running ten sides (the highest number in the history of our club) including two veterans’ sides and one youth development team, all playing league hockey in The Slazenger English Hockey League, Southern Premier or Kent and Sussex Leagues. New members of all abilities (including those wishing to take up the game for the first time) are always welcome.

For the new season we welcome several new players to the 1s squad - all from national league Clubs. This will strengthen the squad for the challenges of the National league. We bid a fond farewell and the very best of luck to our two England U21's who take up University posts this year - see you in three years!!

Training and development are important throughout the Section and we take pride in the fact that several members of our current first Xl have come through our own Junior and youth development systems.

Fitness is key to good hockey and all players should be undertaking their personal fitness programmes.  1s/2s training is each Thursday evening throughout the season at the Hollybush Lane Astroturf starting at 7.30pm. 3s down training is at Tonbridge School on Tuesdays nights at 8pm-9.30pm. For new players details of how to get there are on the ‘Contacts’ page.

Just as important, we are a friendly, sociable club which offers enjoyable hockey for all ages and abilities! Our own Veterans’ Festival over the early May Bank Holiday (see elsewhere on this site) is a highlight of the year.

New players are always welcome. Contact us via this website or email direct (preferably) at the address at the top of this page.

How to join our Club:

New members are always welcome whatever your playing level from beginner to international.   Simply contact one of our team captains by coming along to trials or one of our regular general training sessions (Men’s or Ladies’) or by emailing direct with details of your playing experience – even if you are a beginner!  This will help us to assign you to an appropriate starting team.  Your new team captain can also help you to complete and submit the membership application form which you can find here.
