It was high Fives as the Acorns cemented 5th place in Kent Open League Premier division C with a 5-1 victory over Old Bordenians. Goal scorers Fred Hussey (2)Will Oakes (2) and Earl Thomas(1).

The Acorns continued as they left off last week with some quick and positive hockey to take a 6-0 victory over BBHC. Goals by Earl Thomas (2) Martin Hickman (2) James Clarke (1) and Will Oakes (1). The Acorns were unlucky to take a 4-3 defeat this Saturday as they took on Canterbury Griffins in sub zero conditions. Having gone three nil up with some outstanding play in the first half, the second half saw Canterbury fight back and despite some solid defending and an outstanding penalty save by keeper Nicholls they saw their lead taken from them . The Acorns lost out to local rivals Tunbridge Wells 2-1 this weekend in an end to end game. Oaks not without chances were deprived by some outstanding saves from the oppositions keeper. The Acorns took an unlucky 3-4 defeat against Gravesham this weekend. They will consider it points lost having had large periods of positive attack with several missed chances. Acorns leading goal scorer Neil Smith taking a hat trick and confirming his place as current leading goal scorer this season of SHC. The Acorns started 2013 as they ended 2012 with another great victory beating Holcombe 5's 3-1. Goal Scorers Josh Hickman, Neil Smith and Ali Hay. Senior man of the match was awarded to Pete Richardson, Junior man of the match was awarded to Tom Nohre. Pictured below the winners and sinners!!

The rain was relentless as were the young Acorns when they put 6 goals past Brom Becs this weekend without reply. Goal Scorers :Ollie Hay 2, Earl Thomas 2, Will Oakes 1, Fred Hussey 1.

The Acorns lost 2-3 when they played Canterbury Griffins this weekend. The oppositions goalie playing outstandingly depriving them of what would have been a deserved share of the points. This week saw the Acorns take on league leaders Bromley and Beckenham. Although never really threatening the oppositions goal they must take heart that they matched in effort and determination a larger more experienced Brom Bec team. The final score 2-0 to BB.
